Behance is a site for designers and photographers in which they can display a portfolio of their work. You can upload as many projects as you like to your profile and follow other peoples profiles to keep up to date with their work.
My Behance:
I researched how to get noticed on Behance:

One thing Behance does is to select people to go on their 'featured' page which is the first page you see when you go on the site so anyone who goes on behance will see the featured work first. Behance chooses people based on their work and creativity so in a photographers case, the order, subject and creativeness of the images would be assessed before being chosen so I will keep this in mind when editing and uploading my images.
Featured images:
As you can see, featured images are very highly edited, very creative shots, so the aim should be be as creative as possible. Get inspiration from other peoples images and create your own ideas.
'Post regularly and be patient' - Although you should post regularly, you shouldn't post lots of projects at once, leave a day or so between each post so that if people do want to see more, they can follow your posts rather than having the chance to view everything all at once and then to look elsewhere.
Have accounts with other sites too - I have accounts on Instagram and Format.com
In order for people to start noticing your work, you need to notice their work. I found that if I 'appreciated' peoples posts and followed people, I often got a follow back or appreciations. This is the most effective way to get noticed.
One site said that if you get 150 or more appreciations on a project within 24 hours then you would be featured on the most popular page which is a great step so I would have to message, appreciate and follow lots of people to try and gain this amount of attention which would be very time consuming but for now, any attention is good.
'Only post your best work' - I uploaded work I was happy with, no test shots or random snapshots otherwise people that see that may think all my other work is like that and immediately base my work on their first impression.
Along with posting only your best work, you should always post recent, updated work to keep your profile up to date.
made sure that before uploading, my images were high quality and resolution as again, people will get a first impression and I wouldn't want them to see a low quality image on my profile.
'Use other social networks for feedback' - I upload images to Instagram and Facebook to see what kind of reaction/comments they get. This tells me if the images are well presented/of good quality.
'Follow lots of talented artists' - This will not only inspire me by showing me other great photographers in my feed but also give me the opportunity to comment and appreciate the pieces of work to in return get myself noticed.
I took some images, edited them in lightroom and created some collections so that I could add some recent work to my Behance:
Collection 1:
Collection 2:
Collection 3:
I used simple tags relating to my images like 'portrait' and 'blackcat' and tagged photography and fine art to attarct the attention of people who wanted to see specific images. Not like Instagram where I used random tags to get views.
My work is quite minimalist and simplistic but this kind of work still makes its way in to the featured pages and gets recognition too.
